Spliced Status

So I just wanted to say, as a neurotic writer with a fragile ego, thanks for all the positive responses to Spliced. You've all made me really happy. :D

I started this monster over two years ago, and was too nervous to post it until now. Well, part of the reason for the delay was that I always wanted to go back and adjust some things (even in part 1 alone there were a lot of little things I changed right before posting). Chapter 5 didn't even exist a year ago, I went back and added it last summer. So yeah, there were lots of changes going on and I didnt want to post it just yet.

I posted some fanfics first, to see how those were received, and see if my writing was any good outside of my own analysis of it. But this is my special story, the one I feel most strongly about. My baby. Not that people are ever super critical on lj comms generally, but I'm really gratified to see that ppl didn't just post a "nice job", they actually got into the characters and felt for them (whether it was like or dislike), and expressed opinions about what happened in the story. That level of interest in something you spent so much time and effort in making is breathtaking. I am humbled and happy, and glad I could bring you all along for the ride. I just hope you all don't hop off as it all progresses. We'll see. ;-)

Sorry to babble on. I wanted to mention that I've edited almost all of chapter 1 of Part 2. So that's coming along. I brought a hard copy into work today and basically spattered ink all over it so thickly Dexter could solve a crime out of it. Yeah, I was pretty ruthless lol.

Anywayssss... I need to make all those changes in soft copy. There's only 3 chapters in Part 2, so I'll wait til I'm done with all three before posting. Sorry it'll take a little longer! I'm estimating a posting over the weekend, but we'll see. I'm also visiting family this weekend, so it won't be a normal weekend. Harder to judge how much I'll get done and how busy I'll be.

And if you actually read this entire rambling post, I'm very flattered. :D Sorry it came out so long.
