I'm Alive!

So, I've got a laptop and a loose framework of plot. It's November, and it's NaNoWriMo time again!

But besides announcing that I am beginning Year 4 of National Novel Writing Month, I also wanted to say that while my posting has been less frequent this year, my writing has not. I'm still committed, and continuing my stories, both those WIPs on my LJ and other projects. I may have just um, neglected the editing portion of the writing, something required before posting. What can I say?

I shall try to be better on that front (once NaNo craziness has died down).

Anyways, to sum it up, see the entry title above! ;-)

I finished yesterday! Barely under the wire, but I did it.

For now I will ignore the fact that the book is utter crap and just be relieved I managed to not only hit 50k but also finish the story. Corrections, additions, etc can wait until some other time.

Strangely, even more than relieved, I felt rather freed. Now I can write what I want to write, when I want to write it, rather than feel the pressure of forcing out ~1600+ words a day on average.

And I can get back to my neglected WIPs. Yay! :-)

50354 / 50000 words. 101% done!

I finally did it! The NaNovel hit 50K words! And I have one scene left to write, and possibly an Epilogue finished it completely. Woot!

Totally terrible and un-postable, but it's a first draft, written hastily. I will not complain!

Final Word Count:  51,227 (for now)

*does happy dance, before collapsing face down on desk*

So since I haven't posted in a while, I thought I'd give an update. Yes, I'm alive! And my NaNovel has been progressing, if at times excruciatingly, at least I've kept on plugging along. I still can't wait to get back to other writing, but I'll be happy that I've finished.

Just 3 chapters to go too! So the story will finish pretty close to 50K too. (THANK GOD. I want it DONE.) I am totally at the climax now. *snicker*

Current progress: 43.4K/50K

NaNoWriMo

So I'm finally giving NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month for the uninitiated) a try this year. Since the premise is you have to write 50K words during the month of November... needless to say I won't be updating Spliced or Scotch during November (unless it was a chapter I had already written this month). I'm gonna try to finish Part 3 of Spliced this month if I can, we'll see though.

As for my NaNoWriMo story, the first line is:

The body on my doorstep changed everything.

It's different from the stories I've posted on here. First off b/c it's written in first person, but it's also a fantasy story. So we'll see how it goes! I shall probably fail spectacularly, but I'll give it a go. ;-)
