I hope you are happy: now I cant even go back to the first chapters of Spliced and enjoy guilt-free-Min-being-owned-by-Matt! ;P *sulks off and reads Scotch and Echoes to enjoy guilt free slave owning* >;) (I refuse to acknowledge that Brett and Kurth both also had terrible experiences and I should not take so much pleasure about them being slaves! ;))
Now I will be serious, but really I had to formally accuse you of me turning to a caring person! ;) This was a really intense chapter and totally unexpected! I really like now how we as reader know so much more of Min than Matt does and will help us understand a lot of Min! I think that this shows much more of Min's struggle: Not only is he genetically made to obey (which I still have to say he should listen to what his genes dictate with Matt :D) but he was trained to do exactly this kind of violence but with ORDERS, now he went and done it out revenge and self-preservation!
On an intellectual level he understands that this had to be done, and honestly I was cheering for him, because really those Kristech people are true monsters! He had to escape and secure the means for survival of him and his family and he does know that! But knowing and accepting is a totally different thing! He is horrified that he did this and if he cant accept it he will never think someone could accept him and not see him as a monster! Well Matt has some flaws working for him, he sees Min as an "exception", to but it lightly, an Andorian who defies his master, but I have faith that in light of this facts he could really see Min and accept him! The difficult part is that so that Matt learns some of this guilt dragging Min down, Min has to confide in him and that takes a major leap on faith in Matt who has until now not given him much reason to! So since I have to take my joy from somewhere *accuses you again just for good measure* I take immense joy of this impossible situation between the two of them! >:D
I specially liked Sharra, it would be nice to know what became of her and how she is dealing with all this trauma. I hope we see her again!
Thanks for giving us this glimpse into Min's past!
