So sorry for the late reply. Just getting back from a break from LJ, and trying to catch up on comments now.
Thanks! I read a lot of slavefics that took the traditional approach of the abused slave ending up with the kind, abolitionist master. While there can be interesting psychological things with the slave recovering from the abuse and accepting that their situation really has changed for the better, I wanted to write something different.
I thought a master that accepts slavery as the norm and changes his perspective over time would be interesting to write. It brings up questions like, how much can a person really change?
Of course I won't say yea or nay either way as to the direction of the story, but I hope you find what I do with them interesting.
