Ficlet for tuawahine

Sorry I don't have an update for Spliced ready yet, it looks like it might be a while. I'm sorry about that. It's given me more trouble than I was prepared for. (I blame Matt.) :D

In the meantime, tuawahine wrote me a ficlet, so here's one for her:

Characters: Brett, Jenna, Derrick
Prompt: Jenna/Brett, before he was sold, Brett worries he went too far
Timeline: Five years prior to the start of the story, when Brett belonged to Derrick.
Length: 683 words


What had he been thinking?

It wasn’t Brett’s place to express concern over his future if his master were accepted for that eight month long archaeological dig. Worry silently yes, say anything, no. Either he’d be sold or he wouldn’t. And yet when he’d caught a private moment with his master’s cousin, he’d found himself carefully asking her, “Ms. Warren, what will happen to me if Master Derrick goes away?”

He shouldn’t have asked her, but he’d no one else to talk to. And ever since that first day, when she’d rescued him from his master’s friends, he’d felt this unbearable longing to be closer to her. It was terrible for him to wish she owned him instead; his master wasn’t a cruel man, and that was really all that mattered. Yet he couldn’t seem to control the feeling.

If she had helped him once, maybe she’d help him again? That desperate thought had propelled the words from his mouth. Startled by the question, she’d frowned. “I don’t know, Brett.”

The moment had passed without any reassurance given, and he’d become ashamed of his forwardness. But her frown had remained, worrying Brett further. Would she report his inappropriate behavior to his master?

She hadn’t the other day, but she was here again now, alone with his master. After bringing them drinks, he’d been dismissed. If she did bring it up, he was glad he wasn’t there to hear it. But his master would just punish him later; as always, there’d be no escape.

“Brett,” his master called then, making him wince.

He entered the room with his head bowed. But he’d worried for nothing. Although Ms. Warren gave him a lingering look that made him quiver with repressed desire, his master barely spared him a glance. All he wanted was another drink.

As he brought it to Derrick, his eyes strayed to Ms. Warren’s auburn hair. It looked so soft, it was almost worth a beating to touch it. But his manners were too ingrained; he would never dare be so improper. Especially to her, who he respected so much. He retreated to the edge of the room, ears perked for another dismissal. Thankfully, he got one and returned to his room, away from the temptation that was Jenna Vanlean-Warren.

A while later though there was a knock on his door – a knock? – before it opened. His master’s cousin smiled at him, and he felt mingled happiness and dismay.

“Brett,” Ms. Warren said, his name upon her lips causing a disturbing warmth. Shameless, that her smooth voice had such an effect on him.

Mentally shaking himself, he dropped from the bed to kneel on the floor. She’d never been in his room before – at least not outside of his fantasies. Best to pretend the bed didn’t exist.

“I spoke with Derrick,” she said, oblivious to his discomfort, “about your situation if he goes away.”

That drew his full attention.

“If he leaves, you’ll stay with me while he’s gone.”

He must’ve gaped like a fish. Tamping down the rush of joy, Brett composed himself before speaking. “Oh Ms. Warren, thank you.”

He prostrated himself to cover his smile and express his gratitude. This seemed too amazing to be real. He would’ve gladly kissed her feet, along with other things.

“No need for that, sit up,” she said. He obeyed, his mind still reeling. To live with her, to serve her…

Her fingers stroked his hair, and he struggled not to lean into the caress. Except for that first night when she’d briefly held him, his hair or his shoulder were all she ever touched. He closed his eyes, wondering if she would fondle other parts of him if he lived with her.

Too soon she left, and he climbed back onto his bed, his scalp still tingling. In the privacy of his tiny room, he allowed himself a beaming smile at the wonderful possibility of serving her. But that was all it was, he cautioned himself a minute later. A possibility, not a certainty.

Now he worried that his master wouldn’t leave him.

It is just so filled with kinks, how could I not enjoy it!!! :)

I uh, may have given some thought to the next scene, but I am refusing to write it. What is this refusing??? >:) You have given it thought, now you JUST have to write it down!!! *evil grin*

Mhh sorry I knew I had read it that he was not aware, but the post was done, but yes so the blame is only on Derrick and Jenna! >:)

But you see how nice it would be to explore their first days after Derrick went away? He so doomed, wanting to touch her hair, even if it could get him a beating, she giving him those "lingering looks"!!! >:) It must be beautifully full of tension those days!! :D

Hehe, no problem. Yeah, it really is Jenna and Derrick's fault, not Brett's. Poor man.

Oh I know, those early days would be fun. He wants her so bad but can't initiate anything, because it would be disrespectful. But he has fantasized about her. I like that juxtaposition, of him respecting her so much that he wouldn't dare be disrespectful (and his training reinforcing that), and yet he longs so bad to touch her that it is hard to fight the temptation. Oh the angst and the tension. *grin*

And you see, already here he has perfected that pitiful way of asking a question so that his (future) Mistress can't help but feel sympathy and assist him! ;-)

If he already is fighting the temptation when Jenna is talking to his Master!!! I just am gleeful at thinking how he would just like to touch her hair in that situation!!! The temptation and self control that will be necessary when they will be ALONE!!! Bwuahaha! Now I need an evil laughter!!! >:)

Yes he is starting with that shameless disguised BEGGING really early!! He is not even her property yet, he is owned by someone else and yet he insinuates in that helpless-cute-slave-mode!!! Now that should be punishable, but secretly encouraged!! >;)

Lol. You are not the only greedy one, sigh. I see now that I shouldn't have written this scene. It just creates more pestering and work. :P

That's true, if the temptation is that bad in his Master's presence, imagine when he is alone with his new (unofficial) Mistress in her apartment... I think his new kneeling position will have him sitting on his hands. ;-)

Hey you must admit that helpless-cute-slave-mode is practically irresistible! I mean how could you say no to pitiful!Brett? He really is so helpless... who wouldn't want to save him?

Pestering??? Again someone who misunderstands healthy positive reinforcement to the author so she finds her driven to write more!!! Sniff, my good intentions are taken so badly!!! >:)

Heee now I will pester you some more, sorry give you more positive reinforcement, because of reading THIS: I think his new kneeling position will have him sitting on his hands. ;-)
It is a rather good position to disguise a lot of things, isnt it? >:D

It is irresistible and it awakes the protectiveness-feeling, but that's no excuse for him using it! It is as you said before one of his few resources available to him, when not even his life is his own, but even so: shameless!!! >:D

You've just answered exactly why it's NOT shameless! He has nothing, since even his life is not own. There is nothing else he can do except appeal to our kinder natures... poor baby.

The position has benefits for everybody involved! Specially the reader! :D

I stand my ground, he uses his helplessness to appeal to our kinder natures (where I suspect you have a kinder one, than me), it IS shameless, and punishable, begging like that! ;) He does not have to know that secretly its very appealing! >:)

Sigh, I noticed! :P I'd say you have all THREE covered...

And Jenna. I don't think she'd mind either... in fact she's getting the most benefit, sigh. But that's okay, I'll take it vicariously through the prose...

I think you are too mean to the poor slaves. As long as they are obedient, they are behaving well. And don't you know that begging IS the proper way for slaves to ask for something? There's no other respectful way for them to ask, lol.

I am so glad that Jenna is pro-kink! ;) We are all living through her, since it looks less than probable that she will lend out Brett! >:)

I am not mean, I am just torn between to many kinks! ;) and they have little choice, dont they? >:D I like it a lot when they beg! And ypu are right it is the proper way to ask for something, anything less would sound like a request, and well I think we covered it, that they dont have rights, just privileges! ;) But I do like to find fault at what they do, just ask Fran, I do have a thing for slaves to be in a doomed if you do, doomed if you dont situation! Sorry its they cant win kink!!! >:) So I like it when he begs, and I will call him on begging! :D

Yes, it's a very good thing for us that Jenna has her kinks as well. :D And hey, her not lending him out is part of that possessive kink. Really, can you blame her?

Yes, I learned early on that you are a big fan of the damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario... poor slaves. You want them to beg, punish them for it, and then beg you to stop. :P It's a vicious cycle!

The possessive kink is only acceptable when its in your own person!!! I would NEVER share, or just do it for the fun we have discussed that would bring so much uncertainty into the slaves lives! >:D But on everyone else, specially Jenna, possessive kink is not desirable, because it reduces considerably my probabilities in getting Brett! ;)

Mhhh vicious cycle? I just thought its a way of having the fun of begging AND punishment!!! >:D

You see her page is still nice and readable! Not like the threads of doom plaguing your latest posts! ;) But she already regretted posting this story, JUST because it triggers a very natural MORE request in readers! I cannot understand her! ;D

It does look a little bit scary does it not? And specially must have scared off the few brave readers when they learned the conversations revolved around punishing a certain slave for cutting his hair! Not that I am putting this out here as harassment, nope not me! Your angel is terribly helpful in these opportunities! ;)

How can you be so understanding when she leaves us with sentences like: He would’ve gladly kissed her feet, along with other things.??? Its cruel not to reassure your readers that you will abandon RL and work just to dedicate yourself to write non-stop!!! >:)

She did ask for it didnt she? >:D I was just badgering you about posting more Spliced AND more of Brett and Jenna: the first days after Derrick leaves, and well since you are at it, the months when he is away, when her mother first knows about Jenna slave-sitting Brett, when Derrick returns and Jenna returns Brett to him, when he learns Derrick is going to sell him.... You see there is so much material!!! >:D

TOO much material, I say! Gahhhh. And the thought of Jenna and Brett dancing around the fact that they both want each other is too cute and tempting. Sigh. I WILL resist... on paper anyway. My brain is beyond my control. :(
