Procrastinating

Just a quick update. It's not that I haven't been working on Spliced but... oh wait, I haven't really. I did edit some, but besides some RL stuff, I've also totally distracted myself. I've found that when I'm writing a lot, I cannot read any (published) books. It makes me lose my focus, and sure enough I've been reading a lot and stopped writing. I also had a huge Friday Night Lights marathon and watched the first two seasons. (Omg, totally in love with Riggins/Taylor Kitsch!)
As for books, I just finished Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake. Wow, that was an amazing first book. I'm jealous I didn't write it myself! And I also just read Kimberly Raye's new Lil Marchette book (god, Ty is so so hot), so I've been drowning in vampires this past weekend. And before that I read Cry Wolf (can I ever fully express how much I love Patricia Briggs' urban fantasy books? cause I really really do.) And next up is the latest Weather Warden book by Rachel Caine. I think this is the last book of the series, but I'm not sure. Maybe after I finish that one I'll be done for now and get back to writing.
As for Spliced... I think my muse/subconscious is trying to tell me something about the next chapter or two. There's something I need to fix, but I am not sure exactly what it is. You'd think it wouldn't be hard for me to just edit the thing and post it, since it's already written out. But I have this niggling feeling that I'm missing something. Of course if I actually work on it, I'd probably figure it out. Fancy that! Well, I'll take the printed copy of Spliced with me to work as I do every day, and hopefully this time I'll do some work on it. Maybe this week it will happen...

P.S. I need to go back and catch up on what stories others have been posting on LJ. I've barely read anything, and I need to comment/feedback as well. I'll get on that soon, I promise!
