Hey all, just posting to say, yes I am alive! I'm sure it doesn't look like it, but I have been my obsessive productive self and am still writing away, even if I have not been good with the whole regular updates on LJ thing.

I've actually worked on Spliced a lot the past couple of months, and can happily say I have completed a first draft of Part 5. It's been over 2 years in the making just to write this Part, so I'm quite happy about this! Not to say there isn't plenty of editing still to do (I can already hear my beta [livejournal.com profile] aurila saying, "Hey, it's nowhere near ready yet!") but it is definite progress! And hopefully this should also equate to more regular updates (fingers crossed).

Part 5 will be 16 chapters total--barring any sudden decisions to add/delete chapters or something--and there will be a Part 6 to conclude (whoa, scary word!) the epic saga of the Spliced boys. Don't ask me yet how long that one will be; I still need to make the outline. FYI, for those interested, it looks like Part 5 will be ~80,000 words on its own, bringing the total tally for the series so far (Parts 1-5) up to 293,000 words.

One final bit of good news, I will post a new chapter this week! Of course I wouldn't blame most people at this point for thinking, "Wait, who are these characters again?" but that's my own fault...

Oh and a shout out to [livejournal.com profile] aurila, who helps the boys (and my writing) be as good as they/it can be--something that sometimes often takes a LOT of work! But no one is a bigger supporter of Spliced (and me) than her, so I suppose I must continue enduring her brutal honesty. ;-)

And lastly, thanks to all you readers out there who are still sticking with me despite my long hiatuses, and who still care to see where my stories go next. Your support and lovely comments make my day!

I'm mostly good. Life is good, work is good, writing is still non-existent. I am still trying to get back into it and I'm sure as hell not quitting, but damn am I good at self-sabotage.

Lol, that is a very lovely image indeed. *gg* Do you know those writer's block fics where the author of the not-continued-WIP writes the characters being annoyed at being left hanging? I sort of wrote one of these in my mind when I read your comment. :D (I do as a matter of fact have my fic folder open right now. And promptly got distracted in the best of ways by my plot bunny file. Damn, I have to get back into writing, if only to one day commit that NCIS/Gilmore Girls crossover I made notes for...)

Glad to hear you're not quitting! It can be hard to get motivated sometimes, that's for sure, so I hear ya.

Yes, I do remember those fics! Haha, I would love to hear Gill's ~thoughts~ on the situation you've left him in. :-)

Oooh, I inspired some looking at past writing hmm? Don't let the opportunity slide past!! Lol, NCIS/GG is a very odd combo, but I've no doubt you could make it work. :D

Just imagine it for a moment... Gibbs and Emily Gilmore in the same room, with opposing goals. Or "Emily meets Abby" for that matter. And Tony would flirt with Lorelai. And Gibbs and Luke would get along beautifully (and silently).

(Btw, psst, I don't want to jinx it, but it has been sort of a good week in the motivation department. Long train journeys for the win is all I'm saying.)
