Dropping in to say yes, I'm alive! I promise I will catch up on comments, friends list, etc. I'll even provide a Spliced ficlet shortly.

What have I been up to? Besides the usual (boring) work stuff and some traveling which have kept me busy, I also still can't not write something, so I've been working on a new story the past few months.


M/m, and surprise, slavefic lol. It takes place in the Spliced universe. I initially thought it would be a simpler sort of story, one I could get done quickly and move on with. Hah, silly me. I don't write those! It's not Spliced level of insanity, but I'll just say the characters have shown me they have a few issues to be worked out, ahem.

Anyways, I'm over 50K into this story, and I'd roughly guess I'm about halfway done. Overall I'm happy with how it's going so far.

How's everyone else doing? Hope you're having a great summer/winter so far.

HOW, just how can you declare so casually that you are 50K into the story already and NOTHING is posted yet? >;) Evil I say pure evil! ;) This reminds me of a third VERY neglected story of yours, it involves a certain Queen that I hope has better control over her slave! How is that going? >:D ;)

Yep, on the planet Calnith though, not Karta. :P I'll say that the slave in this one is not rebellious, unlike certain others who do not need to be named, ahem.

Hey I was going at such a good clip it seemed a better idea just to continue on until I was done! No pesky editing before posting. Plus, I think I'll evaluate it after I'm done, see whether I think it is publishable. I feel like Spliced in all its weirdness is a hard sell, while I think this story is more approachable.

In all seriousness, really need to work on that one, yes. Unfortunately, still stuck on pesky plot stuff.

Bwuahaha, it looks like stalking isnt it? >;) But really after taking some glasses of wine which I felt entitled to I received a email from work :S so I am of course procrastinating with the wrong email address, instead of confronting my RL email and its implications! >;)

When will we see how things are done in Karta as they should be? >:D Well I am glad Min is not going to have his place as Most Rebellious Slave EVER contested!!! I am relieved! :D

Of course, why would we ever do things on time when procrastinating is so much more satisfying...?

I won't say I won't ever explore that society more, because I do find it interesting, but I'll save that for another time. I wanted to flesh out a planet that I'd really only mentioned in passing in Spliced, give it some life. Lol, yes Min's title is safe. :P

Well, whether I post to LJ or actually (amazingly) get it published, it would be available eventually!

Believe me, I'm frustrated with it too. I have ideas for later things in Echoes that I'd love to write, but they are too dependent on figuring out the things in between. Sigh.

In my defense I submitted my work on time, the email was about ~important~ question like is water wet that simply couldnt wait until tomorrow! >:| Thats why I was checking other mail to cheer me up and finding your entry did just that! :)

And LOL at me because I was thinking of Echoes today and said to myself that I like the story VERY much, not that I obsess over stuff, nope not at all, not only because the Queen is my hope on the Mistress-who-knows-how-to-handle-a-slave, but because I think one of my interminable list of kinks is guy-who-had-a-lot-of-power-now-is-slave!!! O_O I know learning another kink of mine is a total shock to you! ;) :D

YOU SHOULD MENTION WHAT THE NEW STORY IS ABOUT, GIVE A SYNOPSIS which basically could be seen as torture or benevolent to your readers and knowing you the torture-readers-part is too attractive so I am banking on that feeling!!!!!! >:D ;) :)

I like the sound of your new story, but I hope that you don't get too side tracked with it that you forget to update "Spliced"
Have you got some sort of mud map for "Spliced" or do you write it on the 'fly'?

I'm doing great thanks muchly :) It's very wintery over here at the moment and the rain is falling and the wind is blowing. It's all quite delightful.

No worries about the misplacement. And no, I don't plan to sideline Spliced to finish this other story. I'll keep working on it too.

Oh no, I find Spliced too complicated to write on the fly. Over time I've learned I'm much better off (and more likely to finish a story) if I have an outline of some sorts or at least general ideas of the plot and where it's going. I have the rest of Part 5 outlined, but after that I don't have it outlined in a chapter framework, I just have various notes and plenty of other thoughts I should jot down sometime. (Part 6 should be the last, finally.)

I had to look up what a 'mud map' was. It sounded like an Aussie thing! No, I'm a bit more organized than that at least!

Lol, you don't normally hear the adjective 'delightful' applied to rain and heavy wind. But considering the size of your average 'rivers' I suppose rain is a good thing. :-)

A new story in the Spliced Universe? Excellent! I am sooo looking forward to it. Of course I'd also like to read at least 40 more chapters of Spliced - but I can wait.
To be honest, I only started reading Spliced, because I thought it was completed. I am glad I did. Such a wonderful story,and excellent writing. It is one of my favorite fics now.

40 more chapters! Spliced would really be monster length then. Well, who am I kidding, it already is lol.

It does sound interesting! I just commented over at Catana1's LJ that I'm fascinated by writers who manages to create an interesting universe that they return to for a lot of different stories. I can't seem to do that. Usually when I end a story I never return to either those specific characters or that world... On the other hand I always return to the same themes, so... But still! I sometimes almost gets a bit jealous, I want that special world too! :-)

Lol, I'd be more than happy to share it. Sadly it's more the lack of time that afflicts my progress... so many things to do, so little time. :(

It's not normally something I do either, the Spliced verse is the only exception for me. The fact that I created a universe with about a dozen planets certainly helps, as it gives me lots of room to play in. I can't possibly flesh out all those worlds in one story, so it gives me the opportunity to write other stories doing so.

I'm really enjoying this new story. Sigh. Yet another slaveboy has wormed his way into my heart. They are shameless, I tell you, these boys! >:O
